Wither Skeletons

I can't find wither skeletons to save my life and I am really trying to get a beacon for my base. Any suggestions on how to find them and farm them for skulls?

Find a nether fortress, make sure there aren't a bunch of torches everywhere and stand back so they can spawn. Another thing you could do is try to flatten the nether fortress out into like a big flat spawning platform.

Then wait for hours for one spawn and a few more hours for head to drop assuming you don't use any looting enchants

With a looting X Sword, I can kill dozens of Wither Skeletons and get one head, and all my coal for the next few days. It is a painstaking process.
