What if people who rp dont have skype .-.Actually that seems like a good solution, just make a group chat for rollplayers in skype.

I like the idea of /rp but not what big says -_-
its too bad we cant have a seperate server for RP like we have I guess for PVP, and just mix it up with the PVP or something since PVP would be necessary for real full roleplay, (to my way of thinking anyway, since I see roleplay as dungeons and dragons and such, and if we are honest, all video games are a sort of roleplay already)
as for the grief issue you mentioned, I would make it against the rules to do anything that is already against the rules normally, ie, roleplay is not a way of avoiding those rules, to use it as such as you had happen to you, is called manipulation, and that should be an offense in and of itself, (manipulating the staff I mean) one example of manipulation would be to ask a staff member for something and they say no, then go and ask another staff member with out properly pointing out other said staff said no, (not I am busy, or dont want to, but NO you cant, cause it is not allowed) and trying to get them to circumvent the ruling of the previous staff. so thus pitting staff against each other,)
in this way, if someone griefed another player while they were roleplaying, it would still be a bannible offense.

Yeah this sounds like a great Idea, We should have like a whole other world for rp, People could make different rp houses or whatever and then ask if anyone wants to play their rp In the other chat box

This entire discussion is very confusing.
To ME, RP is when you pretend, and it can have neat 'uncommon language'.
So, something like 'Fate! I will come hither and save you from extreme hinderance by protecting you from the impending zombie apoc upon my steed forsooth!' or some crap like that.
Or, 'Fate! please come rescue me from the unstoppable forces my nemisis is overpowering my kingdom with!!'
Looking at what happened, someone said 'help someone griefed me!' and Fate came to help and, when Fate took 'the appropriate action' this person said 'no we are rp'.
Sorry, that is NOT rp. That's either someone changing their mind or outright lying, or, trying to set a trap to get a Mod in trouble.
Claiming you are in serious trouble to a mod and you are not, is NOT rp.
If 'RP' was a problem because you 'do not quite understand their intention', then what about the ppl talking in foreign languages?
We have a lot of ppl that speak foreign languages. I don't have a prob with it, cause those folks are usually nice, i never hear someone say 'Ich denke, wir sollten töten oah!'
What it boils down to is, someone said, "HELP, *PLAYER* GRIEFED ME!", and they either lied or changed their mind.
And got attentive mods involved.
And THAT is not RP.

Players would go complete quests and such to earn an additional Vote Keys like save the last sheep or gather 10 gunpowder etc. Sometimes I'd be like, "Escort mission, lead me to the library to gather important documents and head back to the village"
Well anyways, I'm still trying to separate RP from House play because as of now, I'm setting up a dungeon for players to earn additional vote keys and prizes in there and it's an RPG environment.

man your RPG stuff sounds fun, let me know when you get things set up or if you want some help on dungeon work
, I might build a similar set up in mine, like a dungeon with redstone lamps and levers set to "everyone" so when they find tthem (that is part of the quest dealing with dark till they find them) they can turn them on and stop the mobs from spawning in the dark though might require they have optifine so they can enable dynamic lighting (holding a torch in a hand to see around them at what is going on,)[DOUBLEPOST=1460312614,1460312575][/DOUBLEPOST]that also means that someone might have to be a torch holder if that does not work from putting the torch in the shield arm, have to give that a try XD
RP is a good thing and definitely fun. I feel like there should be a prefix by your name with a command like /rp on and /rp off. There should also be things that rolplayers should not be allowed to do/say. Inappropriate things, fake mod calling, etc. I also feel that roleplaying can be annoying and spammy in chat, and confusing if we have way to many people doing different rps. I like the idea that there should be a separate chat for roleplayers, one that takes away the spam for the players who just want to play minecraft survival, and still letting those roleplayers create their own story.

Yes just saying Help im being greifed is not Rp i say just ban the player that lies not ban rp. Yes there is a problem with rp spamming chat but just ban the spammers.

I've been trying to dig up where Kiyan200 put the solution that no one listened to, apparently it's not on this thread. Also this thread is long dead/off topic from where it stands now. There is already a solution and if you say it doesn't work, you're doing it wrong.
