Replying?

Is there any reason why threads are usually closed for further replies?
I understand why threads that ask questions can be closed after an answer is found, but general topics such as introductions etc. are limited pointlessly imo.

Hello,

Recently, we've had an increase in spam replies, troll comments, etc.. which is why a few of the more recent ones were locked and the threads made by the trolls were deleted. They seem to have quite the mission to be inappropriate on these posts, which is why they have remained locked.

In a week's time, I will unlock them (with the moderator's permission who locked them in the first place) and have them open for further replies. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but this is a necessary precaution at this time.

I appreciate you asking this question, feel free to ask further ones here as well.

Ah ok, that's understandable. It's a shame we have to cope with trolls and spammers. Either ways thanks for the answer, appreciate it.
